Cherokee New Testament.

This is the only know translation of the New Testament in Cherokee, in existence. Though in times past there were at least two other partial translations, this was the first and only complete translation, thanks largely to the efforts of missionary Samuel Austin Worcester, and Cherokee publisher and editor, Elias Boudinott. Perhaps the greatest, albeit unknowing contributor of all was George Gist, better known as Sequoyah, who single handedly created the Cherokee Syllabary, without which this translation would not have been possible.

Aside from the Spiritual value of the Cherokee New Testament, it is also one of the few readily available works of literature, perfect for those wishing to further their understanding of written Cherokee.

The original translation and printed text dating from the 1800s.  Black leather-look with gold imprint.  Personal record and genealogy pages.  $25.00
